"Lookout" Sutton & Co.'s Dispatch Line Clipper Card, multicolored ad and design on glazed enamel stock (167x115mm) printed by Nesbitt & Co., with illustration of Soldiers in Wooden Lookout with Cannon, Camp Tents and Troop Allegories at Sides, with card promoting the "108, 112 & 109 Days Passage, Popular & Reliable" ship, fresh vibrant colors with only very minor corner wear, Very Fine and choice, a spectacular and rare sailing card.
Estimate    $2,000 - 3,000.

The 1,068 ton "Lookout" was built in Warren, R.I. in 1853. She made some fast passages and was reputed to have been a great favorite on the San Francisco - New York run. Sherwood, named on this card, was her captain between 1857 and 1863.
