Pa. '5 cts' May 23" cds prepaying 5¢ inland postage to New York, carried by Cunard Cambria from New York May 24th to Liverpool arriving Jun. 6th, Liverpool America (6.6) entry backstamp and matching "1/-" due handstamp for the 1s packet rate, blue Sheffield (6.7) arrival backstamp, Very Fine and handsome, ex-Pope, "Seven Oaks".

A REMARKABLE TRANSATLANTIC USE WITH THE 5¢ 1847 ISSUE IN THE RARE SHADE OF "SEAL BROWN".

Cal Hahn and Wade Saadi have both examined this cover and identified the 5¢ shade as "Seal Brown", a rare shade variety of Dark Brown.
