Linden Cal. Mar 4, double circle datestamp on 1868 cover with embossed red "Overland" ribbon crossed to Sharon, Canada bearing 2¢ black (73) horizontal pair cancelled by circular grid, matching strike crosses out ribbon, bold strike of large "10" due handstamp, Newmarket (4.4) transit backstamp and matching "U.S. 10cts" in oval due handstamp also ties pair, red Sharon (4.6) arrival backstamp; slightly reduced at right, Very Fine, Very Fine and unusual use, ex-Faust.
Estimate    $750 - 1,000.

The treaty rate was 10¢ per ½ ounce. Cover was sent with insufficient treaty-rate postage, so considered completely unpaid.
