1852, 3¢ dull red, type II, on two allover illustrated Intemperance covers; one the "Intemperance is the Curse of the World" design with Hale imprint on cover to Newark, O. with stamp tied by blue "Trenton, N.J., Feb 17" cds, other the "Intemperance is the Bane of Society" design with Jewett imprint on cover to Westfield, Mass. with stamp tied by indistinct Connecticut cds; second cover with stamp slightly creased from overlapping cover, otherwise Very Fine, an attractive propaganda duo.
