1847, 5¢ red brown, margins large to just into frameline at top, tied by red grid handstamps on 1851 folded letter sheet to Bordeaux, France, matching "New Orleans, La., Jun 15" cds, red "Colonies, &c Arts. 13" accountancy box handstamp, red Calais transit cds and "15" decimes due handstamp, reverse with receiving postmark; some minor cover wear, Very Fine, a rare transatlantic usage sent on the last packet prior to the demonetization of the 1847 issue, ex-Mirsky.
