New Zealand, 1856, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 2d blue on blue paper, Auckland printing, unwatermarked, horizontal strip of three with large to huge margins all around, strong color, cancelled and tied by two strikes of numeral "10" barred oval, matching "Wellington, New-Zealand, SP 27, 1857" rimless backstamp on blue folded cover to Halifax, England, endorsed "Via Melbourne" at top center, Halifax (1.13) arrival backstamp; horizontal file fold affects left stamp, right with corner crease and tiny repair above it, a Very Fine and scarce use, ex-Antipodes; with 1988 Holcombe opinion.
