1847, 5¢ red brown, bold red St. Louis, Mo. town cancels, ample to huge margins showing portion of adjacent stamp at top, rich vibrant color, Extremely Fine and choice, a striking stamp, SMQ value without cancel premium; with 2006 P.S.E. and 2013 P.F. certificates, the former Graded (XF 90, SMQ $625).

1847, 5¢ red brown, full even margins and rich color, hint of soiling, tied by red square grid handstamp on cover to Albany, N.Y., in combination with large margin Boyd's City Express, 1845, 2¢ black on green (20L4), canceled by small company grid handstamp and tied by red "New York, Feb 15"; local stamp with a couple minute edge tears and cover fold well away from stamps, Very Fine; with 2018 P.F. certificate.

1847, 5¢ dark brown, large even margins, sharp impression with intense color, tied by neat black circular grid cancel, matching "Louisville Ky., Sep 15" cds on buff cover to Hopkinsville Ky.; original 1850 enclosure accompanies, Extremely Fine and choice, rare with both a black grid and a black town datestamp; signed by Wade Saadi and Phil Wall on reverse, with 2020 James Kloetzel letter confirming dark brown shade.

This was offered in the 2000 Siegel Rarities sale where it realized $5,175. Wade Saudi and Phil Wall were well known collectors of the 1847 Issue.

1847, 10¢ black, double transfer (type "D"), position 41R1, showing double transfer of left and bottom frame lines as well as in "U S POSTAGE" letters at right and bottom, light complimentary blue town and grid cancels with double transfer clearly visible throughout the design, large to huge margins, rich shade and beautiful sharp proof-like impression, Extremely Fine, a beautiful and choice example of this scarce double transfer variety, ex-Saadi; with 1969, 1989 & 2020 P.F. certificates.
