1850-60's, 3¢ issue covers, unorganized assortment of 200 covers from a dealer's back room ranging from the early 1850's to the mid 1860's, both perf and imperf with a wide variety of cancels, colors and shades, most are single franking covers, but several have more stamps, condition ranges from rough to very fine, sure to be a few surprises, an attractive and interesting lot (no photo).

1852, 1¢ blue, type IV, covers, group of 12 plated covers with single and triple frankings (two), note strip of three (53-54-55L1L) from Leavenworth City K.T., single (84R1L) tied by "St. Louis, Paid 1" crude cds on circular to Ills., some flaws, F.-V.F. group, ex-Celler with many ex-Wagshal.

1852, 3¢ dull red, types I & II, plated cover collection, collection of over 195 covers with a wide range of towns and uses, collected for plating purposes with some decent stamps present, color cancels, also a group of lesser quality not counted; some mixed condition but some better, generally F.-V.F., ex-Celler (no photo).

1852, 3¢ dull red, types I & II, better plated cover group, collection of 46 better covers with some nice margined stamps and uses, a range of towns and uses, collected for plating purposes but with some four-margin stamps present, better positions like corner margin 100L1L or 40R2L with trace of imprint, 10R2L recut button, color cancels, pos. 56L1L double transfer with black "Utica N.Y." fancy oval postmark, a Very Fine group, ex-Celler.

1855, 10¢ green, type I, tied by "Sacramento City, Cal., Jan 19, 1857" cds on cover to Springside, Mass. with manuscript "Carpenter Assembly" endorsement at top, with lengthy original political letter from a Californian legislator discussing election of Senators, F.-V.F.

1851, 12¢ gray black, horizontal strip of four, large margins except clear at bottom, tied by manuscript cancel, red "New York '6' May 16" credit exchange cds on double-weight legal-size blue cover to Liverpool, England, carried by Ocean Line Hermann from New York May 16th to Southampton arriving May 30th, red London "Paid" (5.31) entry handstamp, Liverpool (6.1) arrival backstamp, forwarded back to London with Liverpool (6.3) backstamp and Great Britain, 1d red, pair, tied by "466" oval grids, red London (6.4) arrival backstamp; small top edge mend and edge flaws, 1d pair slightly faded, Fine and rare forwarded use.
