Wells Fargo & Co., "Fresno Flats", black on vermilion express label with manuscript town designation, used on 3¢ green (U163) entire with printed Wells Fargo & Co. frank canceled by "Wells, Fargo & Co., Fresno Flats" oval datestamp (Leutzinger type 12-1) to San Francisco Cal., manuscript "Value 21.00" money letter endorsement and "Chgs Pd" notation, docketed July 26, 1881 on reverse; top left corner repaired, otherwise Very Fine and very rare use from Fresno Flats, The only recorded label use from Fresno Flats.

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express, Junction City, Kas., black on orange label, affixed on yellow cover to Prescott, Arizona Territory in care of Ehrenburg; reduced slightly at left, minor label abrasion, Very Fine and scarce.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Wells Fargo could not deliver to a post office box, but apparently got this money letter to the Chinese addressee.

Express, Minas Prietas, Mexo, black on red label, tied by purple "Money Package, Forwarded by American Express Company, from Kansas City, Mo." six-line handstamp on gray cover to Detroit, Michigan, Mexico 5c blue tied by blue Minas Prietas Dec. 19th oval, endorsed "Value $16000" and manuscript "Pd 175" express rating at top right; reduced slightly at right, F.-V.F. and scarce incoming use from Mexico.

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express, Nevada, Cal., black on orange label, affixed on 1883 yellow cover with part-printed "Agent Wells, Fargo & Co's Express" address to Downieville, manuscript "Expense $4.95" endorsement at top, dated Nov. 9th 1883, original Nov. 4th 1883 Wells Fargo letterhead enclosure stating "I have sent by a team a black & white (bitch) dog" with instructions for feeding and watering, Very Fine.

Wells, Fargo & Co., To be dropped in the New York Post Office, black on pink label affixed on 5¢ Garfield (U223) entire with blue "Wells, Fargo & Co's Express, Santa Cruz, Cal., Mar 19, 1892" oval and canceled by "New-York, Mar 28, 92" to Germany, Dresden (4.9); light stain, Very Fine and rare.
Estimate    $400 - 600.

THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS WELLS FARGO "TO BE DROPPED IN THE NEW YORK POST OFFICE".

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express, Ogden, Utah, black on blue label, two different types, first affixed to American Merchants Union Express Company collection envelope dated Aug. 13th 1870 Chicago Ill. by train to Ogden where turned over to Wells Fargo, transcontinental railroad to San Francisco; second black on dark blue label, creased and slightly cut in, affixed on faulty Official Wells Fargo part-printed envelope to Oroville Cal., sent by Transcontinental Railroad to Sacramento, then railroad to Oroville; top edge mend, F.-V.F. pair with two different label typesets.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express, "Oroville, Cal.", black on yellow label with blue town handstamp, affixed on 3¢ red (U10) Nesbitt entire to Sacramento Cal., manuscript "Valuable" and "Paid" endorsements; tear at top eft, top flap refolded as label originally placed over edge causing crease, otherwise Very Fine.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

"Valuable" money letter could be sent without government postage.
