(Florida) Greenwood Fla, June 16th, type II manuscript postmark and "10" on folded letter sheet to Windsor, N.C.; minor toning and edge wear, F.-V.F., one of five recorded examples of the type II manuscript postmark - all from 1851.

(Maryland) Pleasant Grove, Md., Allegany Co., Mar 3, town and county cds with matching "5" rate handstamp on cover to New Haven, Ill.; trivial ink erosion in address panel, Very Fine and rare; with 2013 P.F. certificate.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Zevely made datestamps, auxiliary and rate markings handcarved out of wood. The Pleasant Grove cds and "5" markings are examples of his work.

(Washington) "Colville, October the 27 1861", datelined letter enclosed in yellow cover with "Paid 10" rating to Pownal, Maine; opening tears, some letter separations, Fine, The earliest recorded letter from Colville.

The Washington Territorial Postmark catalog records a Colville Valley post office 1858-59 (no postmarks known) and Colville from 1883 to current.
