1911, 2¢ carmine, S.L. watermark, imperf, vertical coil, paste-up single with plate no. 5351 under paste-up at top, tied by neat New York machine cancel, Jan 4, 1911, to Alfred, Me.; stamp removed - causing two thin spots - and hinged in place, cover reduced slightly at right, light vertical file fold not affecting stamp, Very Fine appearance; with 1998 P.F. certificate.
Scott No. 384V    Estimate $250 - 350.

Said to be the only known example of this plate number on an imperf coil.

1911, 2¢ carmine, S.L. watermark, imperf, vertical coil, strip of four with guideline between top pair, paste-up strip of five used with 1¢ green (410) coil and 2¢ carmine (634), all tied by partial "Hamilton N.Y." ovals, purple "Hamilton N.Y., Nov 4, 1928" cds backstamps on manila registered envelope from Colgate University to Albany N.Y., printed "Registered, Return Receipt Requested" at bottom, Very Fine and wonderful use.

1911, 2¢ carmine, S.L. watermark, imperf, horizontal coil, single tied by "Cleveland, Ohio, Mar 9, 1912" machine postmark on cellophane address window cover with "The Morehouse Co." corner card, Very Fine, the earliest documented use, extremely rare with only two recorded on cover usages, ex-Berkun; with 2004 A.P.S. certificate.
