(Due Markings) 1854, 3¢ red on buff, entire postmarked New-York cds to Bridgeport, Conn and forwarded to Waterbury with manuscript "Ford 3cts", additionally struck with bold Fancy "Due 3" handstamp, flap tear, Very Fine and unusual.

(Due Markings) 1854, 3¢ red on buff, entire to Stockton, Cal., postmarked blue Chicago, Ills double circle and matching grid cancel, struck with two strikes of "Due 7" handstamps in blue, plus one with "Due" handstamp and manuscript "7cts", and red arced "Insufficiently Prepaid" handstamp, flap torn off and small fault at right, Fine, a nice usage of the short paid 10¢ rate (no photo).
