Great Britain, 1841, 1d red brown, two four margin singles (one with tiny corner crease) tied by numeral "159" rectangular grid cancels on 1853 folded cover with to Belfast paying the 1d late fee for posting after hours and 1d inland fee, postmarked tiny Glasgow cds & backstamped with yellowish orange cds of Glasgow, the inside opens to reveal a printed broadside for the "Brig. Abigail" bound for Melbourne, Very Fine. SG Nos. 8.

Great Britain, 1841, 1d red brown, unissued trial printing on Dickinson silk thread paper, plate 11, lettered P-I, no gum as always, full well balanced margins, very fresh, light horizontal crease, Very Fine appearance, a very scarce trial, with eights sheet produced - six being gummed and two ungummed with no gum examples only known to exist. Scott Nos. 3 var. S.G. Spec. Nos. DP22.
