Canada, Dead Letter Office Mail, 1872-1941, group of 14 covers including 1872 and 1878 return envelope uses from DLO with blue and red embossed flaps, 1875 3¢ small queen use with red "Returned for Postage" two-line handstamp, 1884 "Returned Dead Letter" envelope use with printed "3" rating, couple 1940s postage due uses, etc.; some mixed condition, F.-V.F.

Canada, Official Seal, 1879, brown, used to reseal right edge of legal-size Crown Lands Department cover bearing 3¢ orange red (37) tied by "Toronto, Canada, Dec 28, 87" duplex to Egerton, Ont., Dec. 30th arrival backstamp, manuscript "Opend. by J. Wagner" at left; flap slit and opened at right, reduced at top, F.-V.F. and scarce official seal use. Scott Nos. OX1.

"Try England" notation, reverse with purple "Montreal, No. 205, May 10" cds and additional May 11th duplex, Malton (5.21) arrival backstamp; open on three sides for display, F.-V.F. and scarce official seal use, ex-Rixon. Au 17, 14" duplex to Hamburg, Germany, "Toronto, Canada, Aug 20, 1914" oval backstamp, "Ottawa, Canada, SP 9, 14" transit cds, "T/30" circular due handstamp and Germany blue crayon "25" pf due rating, seals may have been used to reseal envelope after examination by censors and perhaps held until after the war, Very Fine and choice official seal use, ex-Rixon. Scott Nos. OX4.
