1862, 5¢ red brown, tied by large Boston "Paid" grid handstamp on 1862 folded letter to Calcutta, India, additionally tied by blue transit handstamp with manuscript "1/4" (1sh4d) rating alongside, reverse with "Boston. Br. Pkt., Aug 20" exchange, London transit and receiving cds's, a Very Fine use from the Goddard correspondence; with 2022 P.F. certificate.

1862, 5¢ red brown, fresh and well centered, tied on folded cover (missing left flap) to Madrid by bold grid cancel with red "New York Br. Pkt. Paid", red London 7/28/62 transit, and Madrid receiving back stamps, Very Fine; with 2001 P.F. certificate.

1863, 5¢ brown, two singles, in combination with 1861, 3¢ rose, two singles + 1863, 2¢ black (65+73) on folded letter sheet to New York, all tied by encircled grid handstamps with matching "San Francisco, Cal., Oct 13, 1864" cds, manuscript "pr Constitution" ship endorsement; cover with restored address ink erosion, Very Fine appearance, a very unusual three color franking paying the six times 3¢ rating; signed Ashbrook, with 2015 P.F. certificate.

'3 Paid' Nov 14" exchange cds, carried on Allan Line Peruvian from Quebec Nov. 16th to Londonderry arriving Nov. 25th, red London Paid (11.27) arrival cds, Very Fine and scarce Detroit exchange office use, ex-Littauer.

The Allan line sailed from Quebec or Portland to Liverpool via Londonderry. Portland, Chicago or Detroit were designated as the United States exchange office.
