Mexico, 1861, Second Issue, 2r black on pink, bisect, Guanajuato, in combination with 1861, Second Issue, 4r black on yellow, bisect, Guanajuato (9a) tied by Guanajuato circular handstamp (Schatzkes 476) on folded letter to Guadalajara, Very Fine, extraordinarily scarce, maybe 8-10 split combinations exist in the 1861 issue, ex-Rosenthal; with 1993 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

Mexico, 1861, Second Issue, 4r black on yellow, with forged Veracruz overprints (See website for images), almost complete sheet of 59 (1 stamps missing), o.g., most stamps never hinged, full selvage at sides, horizontal creases affecting four rows and some flaws at top, F.-V.F. appearance, the largest and unique multiple of this stamp, a true rarity of the issue despite the overprints (sold in the 2002 Afinsa auction for $25,000), ex-M. Burrus & J. Schatzkes (who believed it was a genuine uncommon overprint from the end of the 1861 issue); with 2017 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.
