Lockwood & "The Lockwood Messenger System" Correspondence, 1891-1918, fascinating group of approximately 20 covers and numerous letters, notations and other ephemeral items; includes couple illustrated Lockwood Messenger System, Salem, Oregon covers showing Messenger Profile, one hand carried and other posted with 1890, 2¢ Banknote (Chauncey Lockwood was the proprietor of the company), one includes matching illustrated letterhead and another with bicycle messenger rates, also includes Messenger medal badge (probably to attached to messengers hat), another different letterhead showing Columbia Bicycle Scene backdrop of Agent For The Yost Writing Machine showing Yost typewriter, other covers with enclosures including many telegrams including Western Union Telegraph and Pacific Postal, other commercial correspondences and a photo of Lockwood as chief clerk at the State House in Salem, generally F.-V.F. or better.
