1861, 12¢ black, o.g., lightly hinged, exquisite precise centering with large evenly balanced, encompassed by full long perforation tips all around, with rich bold color and deeply etched impression on remarkably fresh paper, an Extremely Fine gem, ex-Puliafito and Wingate; with 1999 (for pair) & 2018 P.F. certificates.

A GORGEOUS 1861 12¢ BLACK IN PERFECT POST OFFICE CONDITION. CERTAINLY ONE OF THE FINEST MINT EXAMPLES IN EXISTENCE.

The 1861-66 Issue is one the most difficult of all the 19th Century issues to find in choice condition with original gum. This copy typifies the best in a stamp, with bright color, outstanding centering and full original gum.
