Each of the first four Special Delivery Issues (E1-E4) is rare in plate block form. There are maybe ten known of the 1888 Issue.

AN EXTREMELY RARE PLATE BLOCK OF THE 1893 10¢ SPECIAL DELIVERY ISSUE - ONE OF THE FINEST IN EXISTENCE.

Both plates of the 1888 10¢ Special Delivery Issue were reused in January 1893 to print the issue in orange to avoid confusion with the blue 1¢ Columbian stamp. It is believed that approximately a dozen plate blocks of the 1893 Special Delivery issue exist.

Special Delivery, 1894, 10¢ blue, unwatermarked, light central cancel, perfectly centered amid wonderful large oversized and well balanced margins, rich vivid color, a Superb jumbo gem, the only example to obtain this ultimate grade with next highest at 98J (which has an SMQ price at $1,500); with 2022 P.S.E. certificate Graded (Gem 100J, SMQ unpriced).

ONE OF ONLY TWO KNOWN EXAMPLES OF THE 1902 10¢ SPECIAL DELIVERY ISSUE LARGE DIE PROOF ON INDIA.

This proof was lot 80 in the H.R. Harmer sale of the Roosevelt collection in February 1946. At that time Clarence Brazer wrote the essay and proof portion of the sale and he was only aware of one other example of this proof, which was the approval copy that was featured in our Robert Markovits Collection of Special Delivery Issues (June 2016, Sale 69, Lot 1093, realized $2,200 hammer).
