Lot 597 o

Canada, 1872, Small Queen, 2¢ green, apparent double impression, a well centered, unusually "tall" stamp with what appears to be "slipped" print in the oversize bottom margin, but what is actually an inverted mirror image of the bottom 2mm of the design caused when the sheet was accidentally folded over on itself before the ink was dry (there is a corresponding horizontal crease between the two impressions); a striking, most unusual variety with a neat grid cancel, Very Fine; with 2013 Greene Foundation certificate as a slipped print.
