"1A" of Natchez, Miss., bold large advertising handstamp on incoming cover, franked with narrowly cut 1851, 3¢ dull red (11A) tied by large "Paid" in grid handstamp, red "Boston, Apr 22" origin cds; some cover edge wear and portions of backflap missing, F.-V.F., a rare auxiliary rate marking, featured in Milgram's "Unusual Natchez 1 Handstamps" in the Chronicle (May 2020).

"A1" of Woodville, Miss., red advertising handstamp with manuscript rating on incoming folded letter, franked with 1851, 3¢ reddish orange brown (10) tied by "Alexandria, La., Oct 13" cds, letter with interesting content regrading plantation slaves…The children all appeared delighted with their trip up and all they have seen, and all the negroes appeared rejoiced to see them again…There is not a case of sickness now on the plantation. The negroes have all more or less had colds from unavoidable exposure during bad weather while I was absent but all are now well & at work…The negroes are all fat & healthy & in the finest spirits & rejoice at the prospect of making a fine crop. The whip is scarcely ever used because there is scarcely ever any necessity for it., Very Fine, a rare auxiliary marking and interesting slave letter.

"Chicago Supplementary Mail Feb 7", bold and complete blue cds used as a forwarder to Suffield, Conn, franked with 1857 3¢ Dull Red tied by New York cds, 1860 cover originally addressed to Chicago, original enclosure included, Very Fine, unusual use of Supplementary mail, this cover was the subject of a short article in The Chronicle (Feb. 1975, Vol. 27, No. 1) where it was noted as the earliest recorded example of this marking.

"D1" in Circle of Natchez, Miss., large drop rate handstamp on locally addressed cover, with red "Natchez, Miss., Jun 12" cds; some light cover staining, F.-V.F., believed to be the only example of this auxiliary rate marking, featured in Milgram's "Unusual Natchez 1 Handstamps" in the Chronicle (May 2020).

"D1" of Natchez, Miss., small drop rate handstamp on cover initially addressed to another town in Mississippi, franked with 1851, 3¢ dull red (11) tied by grid handstamp, matching "Natchez, Mi., Apr 4" cds with day corrected in manuscript, readdressed back to Natchez and likely hand carried to Natchez and dropped off at the post office, with additional "Natchez, Mi., Apr 20" cds; cover missing backflap and some nicks in stamp at upper right, F.-V.F., a very rare marking.

"Due" markings on 1851-57 Issues, group of 7 folded letters's/covers, all with various 1¢-5¢ "Due" markings, most with 1851-57 3¢ stamps but note 1857 1¢ with Providence, R,I (Due 2), others include: Bangor "Due 3 cts", Boston "Due 1" and "Due 3", Boston ornate "Due 5" in circle Philadelphia blue "5 Cts, Due", additional strike in black on folded letters, minor stamp/cover flaws or small faults, F.-V.F., still attractive group.
