"Waterbury Mis-Sent & Forwarded", bold and complete circular handstamp on cover from Chicago to Canterbury, Conn, franked with 1857 3¢ Dull Red (light crease) tied by blue grid with matching Chicago, Ill, double circle, additional blind embossed circular advertising at left for "Lumber, Shingles etc,", cover minor discoloration, Very Fine, a very scarce and unusual marking mis-sent to Waterbury rather than Canterbury.

Department Dead Letter Office May 22, 1857", well struck large double oval cancel on 3¢ Nesbitt originally addressed to Chatnooga (sic) Tenn and cancelled with Rome, Ga, cds, large red "A" filing handstamp, manuscript blue "$1-" and blue numerals "6811", natural pre-printing paper fold across most of top, backstamped "Chattanooga, Ten Apr 1" and grids, Very Fine, unusual and attractive usage.
