1857, 1¢ blue, type II, position 3L12, face free town cancels, precision centering amid wide margins with design completely within perforations, rich bold color, Extremely Fine to Superb, a lovely used gem; with 2024 P.S.A.G. certificate, Graded (95, SSV $2,500).

ONE OF THE FINEST USED EXAMPLES OF THE 1857 1¢ FRANKLIN TYPE II ISSUES.

By way of comparison, The P.S.E. Population Report lists only three examples in this grade with no others higher in used condition.
