Envelope, 1860, Nesbitt 2nd Issue, 3¢+1¢ red & blue on buff, entire addressed to Lockport, N.Y. and canceled by "New York, Dec 13, 1860" cds and grid duplex; expertly repaired backflap tears extending over into 3¢ indicia, Very Fine appearance. UPSS No. 59.

THE EARLIEST RECORDED USAGE OF THE 1860 1¢ + 3¢ NESBITT COMPOUND DIE ISSUE.

The reverse of entire signed by Stanley Ashbrook and with statement in whole…"New York Dec 13 1860 - This is the only Compound that I have ever recorded used as early as December 1860. This is a real rarity and genuine."
