Soldiers' Mission, Massachusetts Universalist Convention, corner card on cover to Rev. James Eastwood in City Point, Va., franked with 1861, 3¢ rose tied by quartered cork handstamp, red "Boston, Mass., Sep 9" cds, reverse with "Soldiers Mission, Boston, 1863" circular handstamp on backflap; some cover toning at left, F.-V.F.
Scott No. 65    Estimate $150 - 200.

James Eastwood took charge of the Soldiers' Mission, sustained by the Universalist of New England & was engaged in this work, with headquarters at City Point, Va., until the end of the war.

U.S. Christian Commission Imprint Covers, group of six covers; includes scroll type imprint from Nashville, Ten., Branch Office…Washington D.C. corner card with star duplex tying 3¢, four Soldier's Letter imprints two with printed Chaplin endorsement, two with different bird & letter illustrated imprints, one with choice strike of "Forwarded By The U.S. Sanitary Commission" circular handstamp on reverse, generally F.-V.F. or better.

U.S. Sanitary Commission, California Branch, 240 Montgomery St., San Francisco, illustrated attending to wounded soldier design on cover to Sacramento, franked with 1861, 3¢ rose (65) tied by "San Francisco, Cal., Dec 10, 1864" cds and target duplex, with two enclosures one with matching printed letterhead, with content in regards to helping the committee; cover reduced at right, F.-V.F., a very scarce California design.

Pa., May 21, 1864" cds and target duplex; 1¢ with some nibbed perfs from cover overlap, otherwise Very Fine.

Women's Axillary Association - Boston, couple Soldier's Letter including shield design with scarce forwarded circular handstamp, and Forwarded By imprint cover, and three Fair cover including Metropolitan Fair, Northern Ohio Sanitary Fair and Mississippi Valley Sanitary Fair; mostly 3¢ usages with one 2¢ Blackjack use, generally F.-V.F. or better.
