New Zealand, 1862, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 1s dull green, perf 13, Large Star watermark, tied on well traveled 1866 cover from Greymouth, New Zealand to London with barred numeral "620"; initially addressed to Melbourne then forwarded to Hobart, Tasmania ultimately ending up in London; boxed red ship letter marking and oval "more to pay 1s" on front, backstamped with various marking including "Greymouth Ap 23, 1866" origin and "London Jy 2, 1866" receiving cds's, Very Fine, a rare cover. SG No. 78.

New Zealand, 1864, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 2d blue, perf 12½ Large Star watermark, strip of three and single in combination with 1864 3d mauve pair (33) tied on 1867 cover from Dunedin to the United States with "Dunedin Se 20, 67" duplex; red London transit below, manuscript per "Otago Via Suez" routing endorsement and "Boston Br.Pkt 10 Dec 4" cds at left, some trivial perf flaws & small sealed cover tear at top, Very Fine and attractive, a scarce cover. New Zealand, 1867, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 3d deep mauve, imperf, Large Star watermark, in combination with 1864, 1d vermilion and 2d perf 12½ (31, 32) tied on 1867 cover with "Hokitika Fe 17 67" duplex, addressed to Wellington and backstamped, roughly opened at left & vert. cover fold away from adhesives, Very Fine, an attractive and rare three color franking.
