New York City Early Postmarks, small lot of 17 covers with early postmarks of New York City, frankings include 1851-57 3¢ covers including orange brown, one cover franked with 1¢ Carrier (6LB10, not tied), one cover with owner's notation, "2nd Known Use Experimental OB", one cover with "Held for Postage" straight line & one with printed corner card, one patriotic cover, one with all-over advertising, F.-V.F.

Lot 1895    

New York City Fancy Cancels, group of 89 domestic covers from 1861-1875 mostly franked with 1861 3¢ rose (65) plus other denomination and later issues, tied with a very wide range of cancels, included are Shields (Skinner-Eno PS-C7, FC-21), Wheels (CR-M 14), solid and hollow Maltese Crosses, Leafs, Triangle (GE-C50), Negative Anchor, Geometrics (GE-C106, C150, M19), a very nice range of targets and much more, overall Very Fine with many outstanding strikes.
Estimate    $1,500 - 2,000.

New York City Grid Cancels, group of 98 domestic covers, mostly 1861 3¢ rose (65) and other issues tied with a wide variety of various types from barred to patent grids, included are Skinner-Eno PN-A1,3,4, PN-B4, patriotic cover (1), overall advertising covers (4) and much more, overall Very Fine, many excellent strikes and room for expansion.

New York City Negative Numeral Duplex Cancels, group of 13 covers dated 1871-75 each canceled with negative numerals, including 3, 4 (2 types), 5, 6, 7, 8 (2), 9 (2), 11, 12 and 14; good range of usages including 6¢ carmine (148) on covers (2), overall advertising covers (2) postal cards and more, a fascinating group, overall Very Fine.

New York City Five-Pont Star in Circle Cancels, group of 48 covers from 1861-72, mostly franked with 1861 3¢ rose (65) but includes some stationery and some other denominations; many excellent strikes including Skinner-Eno ST-D21, D32, ST-S13 & S19, a beautiful 2¢ black (73) tied with bold "negative star in circle", overall advertising covers (2), carrier covers (2), domestic uses of Kirke 70-05-03-PIC var. on Banknotes (one with P.F. certificate), many excellent strikes and much more, overall Very Fine.
