York, red oval handstamp with matching "Collect, 3 Cents" wavy line box handstamp on folded letter datelined "London (England), Apr 4, 1845" to street address in New York, apparently hand carried and handed over to Brainard's for delivery; some ink erosion in sheet, F.-V.F., one of 12 covers with this company handstamp and the only one from a foreign origin, ex-Hahn.

Co. in Philadelphia (Philadelphia & Reading Railroad Co.); cover tone spot at right, still Very Fine, this being the earliest known Eagle City Post usage, Lyons records only 16 examples of this handstamp.

Pa., 5cts, Mar 15" cds, black circular handstamp (type B0 on locally addressed cover with matching "3" rate handstamp, red circular "Specl. Messgr." handstamp (type G) on folded letter sheet to Philadelphia with 5 rate handstamp (Hudson river boat rate), and two 1848 usages with ad labels, Very Fine.
