Ecuador, Ambato, Franca, two strike of red two-line postmark on wrapper to Quito, with manuscript "#" bordered and boxed "Certificacion a Ambato", additional manuscript "Criminales de Oficio" endorsement at top and thus carried free, June 5, 1848 docketing on reverse, Very Fine.

Ecuador, (Babahoyo) Bahoyo, Debe, neat two line postmark on folded letter datelined "Junio 14 de 1842" and addressed to Latacunga, manuscript "2" reales rating, Very Fine, a seldom seen mark and unrecorded in black.

Ecuador, Chimbo, Franca, red oval postmark on ca. 1862 judicial wrapper to Riobamba, manuscript "Civiles" endorsement at top, Very Fine and choice, very rare with only three examples recorded and the only example in red, one in blue dated 1862 is in the Central Bank of Quito archives.

Ecuador, Chimbo, De Oficio, blue oval postmark on wrapper front with top flap to Guaranda, manuscript "Criminales de oficio" endorsement at top, a turned usage with reverse addressed to Chimbo bearing a red "Guaranda, De Oficio" oval postmark, top flap with "Julio 19 de 1862" docketing, F.-V.F., this being the finest of two known examples of this official designation mark.

Ecuador, Chimbo, red fancy oval postmark on ca. 1864 wrapper front with top flap to Guaranda, manuscript "10¾oz" weight notation and "5½" reales rating; reduction at bottom, Fine and rare, with only three examples of this postmark recorded.

Ecuador, Cuenca Franca, neat red oval postmark on folded letter sheet to Guayaquil, with matching "Certification a Cuenca, Salio en 5 en Junio des 1851" oval handstamp with manuscript date, manuscript "Servico" endorsement at top, Very Fine and choice, an extremely clear certification mark of which not more than ten exist.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Ecuador, Esmeraldas De Oficio, straight line town postmark with manuscript "De Oficio" below on two ca. 1854-64 wrappers; one in brownish ink to Quito with Criminal endorsement, other in blue to Quito with manuscript "6oz" weight notation, Very Fine, both as official postmarks are quite rare.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Ecuador, Esmeraldas, Franca, two-line postmark on ca. 1860 judicial wrapper to Quito, with second strike obliterating poorly struck "Esmeraldas, Debe" two-line postmark, accompanied by folded letter sheet to Quito with strike in blue, Very Fine, with the Debe mark being only one of two strikes recorded.
