Worldwide, Stamps Advertising Trade cards, 1900, a selection of 100 beautifully printed cards, all showing stamps or postal cards from various parts of the world, most with advertising on back, a very pleasing number of types, including children in traditional dress with stamps of that nation, postmen delivering mail from a good number of different countries, and so much more, a scarce group.

Worldwide, Stampless Ocean Mail, 1836-1901, several hundred covers, most are ship letter but there are a good group of foreign stampless covers from many places especially Europe; included are a good number of US cover going to Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain Portugal and others, a very eclectic selection of origins with covers from Argentina, Guadeloupe, Poland, Reunion, Scotland, Straight Settlements, Tunisia and Turkey, of special interest is an 1836 prices current from Singapore to New York, 1848 cover from Zurich to Baltimore, 1856 cover from Hamburg to San Francisco, 1858 cover from Warsaw, Poland to Bordeaux, 1862 cover from Buenos Aires to New York plus many more, there are many interesting postmarks, rate markings and ship endorsements, a very good lot with many better items throughout, please inspect.

Worldwide, Stampless Ocean Mail Covers, 1820-1874, selection of over one hundred covers many from a array of foreign countries plus there are a fair number of domestic usages; included are a wide variety of unusual marking like "Too Late" and "Unclaimed", several covers from Batavia, Dutch Indies plus many other places, a very substantial group of Panama transit mail, several franked with Great Britain 1s pairs going to Peru, 1857, "Freeman & Co. Panama Express" in red and oval "Steam Panama" on covers to San Francisco, 1859, 10¢ Nesbitt with "N.York Steamship" hand stamp addressed to Boston plus many with unusual rate marking and routings, a good lot with many better items, please inspect.

Lot 3399 /o   

Worldwide, Postcard and Ephemera Collection, 1876-1970, an impressive holding of thousands of scarcer cards housed in five boxes with an emphasis on Exposition and World's fair postcard and ephemera but with many non exposition related cards of many topics; included are 1876 Centennial Exposition official booklet (faults) with intact map of the fairground inside, superb collection of 1893 Columbian Exposition cards with much ephemera, included are a great selection of the cards, official stationery, exhibit folios with multiple cards of various pavilions, tickets and many great advertising items vending everything from cereal to sewing machines in a myriad of shapes from circular to die cut, from this point on there is representation of the following expositions, 1901, Paris Exposition, an excellent selection of colorful card with many better, some even used, a significant holding of the 1904 St Louis Fair with many fresh and attractive cards and some ephemera, 1907, Hudson-Fulton Exposition, a large holding including many types with a complete set of 72 Official souvenir cards, 1907 Jamestown Exposition group with three oversized cards (2 types), one used but with corner fault, the other two with stamps not belonging to the cards affixed, many other items included, a very nice number of 1915, Panama-Pacific Exposition cards with some folios and ephemera, very good representation of many other Expositions to Expo 67. The non-exposition material is substantial and encompasses a very large series of topics; including military cards showing a very nice range of soldier from many different wars, wearing regimental dress, a very interesting group of transportation cards with airplanes, trains and ships. The ship portion is especially nice, including on full volume of the Great White Fleet, all ships are represented and commemorative cards for their trips to Australia and Japan, an excellent group of riverboat cards and ocean liners. Many interesting college cards, with ladies wearing the colors of the school and waving pennants, of special note are two Harvard cards, the first showing Cupid holding a baseball British Antarctic Territory and the second with a player pitching. An almost complete sets of stamps and coins of the world cards, a superb selection of very colorful Florida view cards with Alligator frames produced by Samuel Langsdorf, of special note are image of Negroes working, a very substantial group of Holiday cards with all holidays represented, with an especially nice and significant group of Halloween cards. A spectacular lot with many hidden gem, too many to be described. A must for the serious Exposition or postcard collector.

Worldwide, Covers, 1860-1960, a very extensive holding of many hundreds of Western European covers with the strength being in Germany and Switzerland; a very large group of Germany from States thru to GDR with a very wide range of usages and destinations, there are semi-postal usages with many better sets, very interesting selection of postal stationery cards and entires mint and used, Zeppelin flights etc., an exceptional run of Swiss Semi-postals from the 1930's, some early large Struebels on cover, interesting and eclectic range of France and colonies with some very unusual usages, very good Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland and some Russia and much more, a valuable holding, careful examination a must.

Worldwide, Forgeries and Cinderellas 1850-1900, extensive range of thousands housed in multiple albums and stock books with the strength being in British Commonwealth forgeries; included is a very well annotated one volume collection of Transvaal forgeries by Otto, Fournier and others, including various denominations and cancel forgeries, another volume contains a very extensive mounted collection of many other parts of the Commonwealth from Canada and Provinces, Cape of Good Hope, British Guiana, Mauritius, Gambia and more, Newfoundland is especially well represented with a very significant array of the early forgeries, there are interesting groups from both German and Italian States, a very colorful selection of cinderellas and poster stamps from the late 19th to early 20th century and much, much more, a fabulous lot with much value, must be inspected to be fully appreciated.
