Sep 11" cds's on cover to Baltimore, Md.; left stamp with mostly short perfs at left and cover reduced at right, otherwise Very Fine, a rare multiple usage of the 1857 1¢ type IV issue from Kansas territory, Scott catalog for strip off cover $2,700.

Kansas Territory circular handstamps, third strike at left with manuscript "Sept. 14" date added on buff cover to Manchester N.H., cover with small edge tear, some minor gum soaks affecting perfs, Very Fine, an extremely rare use of the 1¢ Type IV perforated stamps from Kansas Territory, ex-Mandel ("Penguin").

1857, 1¢ blue, type V, in combination with 1857, 3¢ dull red, three singles (26) on cover to Vienna, Austria, tied by blue "Chicago Ill., Sep 15, 1860" cds's, red "N.York, Bremen Pkt. 'Paid 1' Oct 1" credit exchange cds, although endorsed "Weser", actually carried by NGL Line New York from New York Oct. 1st to Bremerhaven arriving Oct. 16th, blue "America/über Bremen, Franco" three-line transit, Vienna (10.19) arrival backstamp, Very Fine and scarce 1857 Issue use to Austria, ex-Piller.

This cover was sent short-paid for the 15¢ Bremen-Hamburg rate, the balance apparently paid in cash as New York rated this as fully paid with a 1¢ credit to Bremen.
