Pair + two singles on 1866 mourning envelope from New Westminster to Yale tied by New Westminster double-oval post office frank., reverse has embossed crest of Lady Crease and New Westminster double-circle cds, two stamp with s.e., F.-V.F., ex-Wellburn. SG No. 22.

Torn roughly when applied, tied to Wells Fargo franked 6¢ entire to Roxbury, Massachusetts by blue barred numeral "35" cancel and "For Great Britain and Ireland" two line handstamp, blue "Wells Fargo Victoria Jul 19" oval express handstamp, entered the US mails with "New York Aug 6" duplex postmark, cover corner faulty and creases, Fine usage of the 6¢ franked entire to the United States, ex-Warren Wilkinson collection. Cancelled by numeral "35" barred oval of Victoria on 1871 orange cover to England, backstamped blue Victoria cds & UK arrivals, bit reduced at top with part of flap missing, F.-V.F., an example of the January 1868 closed mail rate to UK which no longer required USA stamps.
