Japan reference collection, 1868-76. Attractive collection with the possibility of a few genuine, focussing on the dragons, chrysanthemum, kiri trees and the goshawks, well over 50 dragons including multiples, mint and used, ranging from German reprints, Spiro forgeries and 'sankos', with various cancels including star cancels, town circular date stamps and other fancy cancels, chrysanthemum issues from 1872 inc 'Moso' 2 sen vermillion, Wadas, Spiros, 'sankos' again amongst one or two genuine, wag tails and goshawks, yet more sankos, thick and small letters, with fancy cancels, some 'belt' issues of 1875/76 inc a block of 4 6s brown, please inspect.

Mint and used on album leaves, with 4-margin #1 unused and used #2, unused #6 (perf indentation) and used #7, nice range of chrysanthemums, belts, wagtails and goshawks, syllabics characters, 1876-83 definitives, 1888-92 issues and Chinese Japanese War complete of 1896, turn-of-the-century with better commemoratives, top value 'dove and olive branch' 1919 mint, various other issues including sporadic commemoratives and definitives, offices abroad, especially in China, etc.

Japan reference collection, 1871-76. Mostly the 1872-73 and 1874-75 issues, section of Spiro forgeries of the 1871, 1872-56 issues, various platings with the ½ sen, similarly 1 sen blue and brown. The 4 sen rose, with syllabics, a range of 4 sen green and 2 sen yellow the same. Then further copies of 'belts', 'wagtails', kiri trees, kiri branches etc with all kinds of cancels ranging from concentric circles, rectangular 'chops', revenue cancels, sector cancels etc with different Syllabics, well over 200 copies, well worth inspection.
