Confederacy, [Tennessee] Chickamauga, T., Oct. 10, 1863. Manuscript postmark on 1863 oatmeal cover to Greenville, S.C. franked with 10¢ (four margins) with manuscript cancel, included is a long and interesting letter from a soldier which touches on fighting around Chattanooga, Very Fine.

Manuscript postmark on cover franked with 10¢ (large margins) with manuscript cancel, addressed to Steuart's Brigade, Pickett's Div., Richmond, which was probably never delivered as Richmond fell on April 3rd and the Army of Northern Virginia was in full retreat, flap missing, Very Fine, a historical College Cover used at this very late.

Confederacy, [Virginia] Richmond Va. Jan. 18, 1862. Cds and "Paid" handstamp with pencil "2" cents drop letter rate on obsolete 3¢ Red Star Die entire, locally addressed to "Pres Eliezander Stephens" [sic], manuscript. lines thru embossed stamp, flap removed as usual for Stephens correspondence, docketing on back indicates sender was a Confederate soldier in Richmond hospital requesting a discharge, Very Fine, extremely rare 2¢ rate on old U.S. entire.
Estimate    $300 - 400.
