Charleston, S.C., Honour's City Express, 1851-58, 2¢ black on bluish. Ample margins, tied by manuscript cancel on cover to Effingham, S.C., additionally franked with 1851, 3¢ dull red tied by blue "Charlestown, S.C., 3 Paid, Jun 15" cds, Very Fine and choice; with 2003 P.F. certificate.

Bayonne City Dispatch, 1883, 1¢ black. Clear to mostly large margins, tied on fresh local wrapper by purple target, with matching "Bayonne Dispatch Paid., May 9, 1883" date stamp at left, Very Fine and choice, a very scarce wrapper usage.

Lot 1031    

Bicycle Mail Route, 1894, 25¢ green + 25¢ green, retouch. Unused on Banta's Victor Cyclery corner card cover with the "Overman Wheel Co." straight line handstamp and large messenger service illustrated cycle backstamp, includes route flyer, die defacement testament and two 1935 reenactment commemorative cover from both ends of the route and signed by Banta, Very Fine.

Blood & Co., 1848 (2¢) black on pale green. Four margins, clipped corner at top left, pinpoint surface scrape & minor bit of toning, neatly tied by Blood's Despatch double circle handstamp on cover with whimsical address, "By Blood's Dispatch, which has no match, You'll go at once, I mean to South Penn Square, No. 3, and There at once address", Very Fine, ex-Gibson.

Blood & Co. cover lot. 13 stampless covers & 24 covers with Blood's adhesives, plus two Blood's entires, additionally one cover with blue corner card franked with 1851 3¢ with Blood's handstamp, stampless with various Blood's markings, stamped covers include two covers with 15L12, four with 15L13 (one with 1851 3¢), seven franked with 15L14 (four with 1851 or 1857 3¢ & one with 1861 3¢), four with 15L15 (one with 1851 3¢ & one on 1853 3¢ entire), five with 15L16 (two with 1851 3¢), one with 15L17, plus two Blood's entires 15LU9 (one on cover with printed address to Philadelphia Local Express and one hand carried with enclosure datelined Richmond which states, "Blood's Despatch does not reach me. I receive all my letters from the city by mail.", some faults, however condition is well above average with some interesting usages, worth inspection.

Lot of 8 Blood's adhesives on "Way" covers, included is a cover with manuscript "Way 20", manuscript "Way 5", handstamped red "Way" straight line, two covers red handstamped numeral "5", two covers handstamped numeral "5" in blue (one with Philadelphia railroad cds) and one cover handstamped numeral "10" in blue with Philadelphia railroad cds, mixed condition, worth inspection.

Blood & Co., 1850 (1¢) bronze on black. Touched at top, uncancelled on cover with Blood's Despatch handstamp alongside in combination with two United States 1857 3¢ dull red tied by blue "Philadelphia" cds, cover addressed to "Lieut. Madison Rush, U.S. Ship St. Lawrence, San Francisco, California" which endorsement "via Chagres or Panama" at bottom left, Very Fine and choice, a rare trans-continental usage, ex-Gibson.
