Blue grid tying on small piece with matching "Louisville, Ky." 1861 postmark alongside and "Paid 10" in circle Confederate rate handstamp underneath stamp (stamp lifted and hinged back in place), rich color, Very Fine, a very rare thru-the-lines express usage to England; with 2000 P.S.E. certificate.

Fredericksburg, Va., 1861, 5¢ blue on bluish. Horiz. pair, o.g., mostly large margins to just touching ornament at top left, 2001 CSA cert. mentions "Stamps with creases", in our opinion they are trivial natural gum wrinkles, which are inherent with this type of thin paper, Very Fine.
