British Offices in Haiti, 1876 Port Au Prince, Haiti to Gera, Germany. Cover franked with Great Britain 1864 1d red + 1870 ½d rose + 1873-80 1sh green tied by barred numeral "E53" cancels with British Post Office "Port Au Prince" cds at left, part strike of violet Port Au Prince merchants hand-stamp in lower left, cover with small corner fault at top left & small part of flap missing, Very Fine and rare.
Scott No. 33+58+64    Estimate $300 - 400.

This franking of one shilling 2½ pence represents a combination rate of one shilling per half ounce letter rate from Haiti to G.B. with 2½ pence half ounce UPU letter rate from G.B. to Germany.

British Offices in the Turkish Empire, 1871 Constantinople to London. Folded cover franked with Great Britain 2d blue + 4d orange tied by oval "C" handstamps with red London arrival cds alongside, backstamped with two strikes of "British Post Office Constantinople" in blue green, one of July 12 & one of July 14, franking pays the 6d per half ounce letter rate via Belgium, which was the normal routing from 25-Jul-1870 - 25-Nov-1872, Very Fine and attractive.
