York", manuscript "25", "42" handstamp and manuscript "2/" in the lower left corner, red "AW 6 Ju 6 1849" receiving cds on the reverse, contents mention an enclosure, sent to New York per the Steamer Falcon under contract with Law & Co. with the Secretary of the Navy on the return trips from Charges, Very Fine.

Mar 1", "America Liverpool 13 Mr" transit and "Sheffield Mr 14 1850" A receiving cds's, debit represents a debit of 10¢ per half ounce U.S. Mail steamer to New York, plus 16¢ U.S. sea. The 1/2½ handstamp represents the addition of 1½d GB inland added to the U.S. debit of 26¢ or 29¢ due or 1/2½p British, Very Fine.

Calais K 17 Mars 57" cds, framed "G B 1F 60C" handstamp, manuscript "16" decimes due, with a blue colored pencil "5" (cents debit for U.S. inland for up to half ounce) beneath, and partial red "New- York Br Pkt Mar 4" exchange cds, red oval "Forwarded By Robert a Williams New-York", British transit and receiving cds's on the reverse. sent during the three month interval between the implementation of the Anglo-French convention of 1 Jan 1857, and the U.S. - French Postal Convention, which was effective 1 April 1857, Very Fine.
