Texas Ship rate - Benvenue, Pa. to Zavalla, Texas Republic, manuscript postmark on 1841 folded letter with Paid 25 (to New Orleans) at top, two strikes of straight line "Ship" handstamp, one with pencil obliterating rate and re-rated "56" in pencil below (50¢ rate to Zavalla plus 6¼¢ ship fee), reverse with mostly clear "Wm. Bryant, Agent of the Texan P.O., New Orleans" oval forwarding handstamp, Very Fine, a very scarce ship rate usage to Texas.
