Confederacy, 1862, 2¢ green, horizontal strip of five, large well balanced margins all around, strong bright color, tied by three strikes of "Richmond, Va., Mar 12" cds's on fresh buff cover to Petersburg, Va., both cover and strip an exceptionally fresh condition; faint vertical crease affecting fourth stamp in strip, otherwise Extremely Fine, a wonderfully pristine cover and wide margin strip prepaying the regular ten cent rate; with 2006 C.S.A. certificate.

Confederacy, 1862, 2¢ bright yellow green, vibrant "Emerald Green" shade, tied by Richmond, Va. town postmark on fresh 1863 drop rate cover to the captain of company A of the 37th N.C. regiment, small portion of docketing at top additionally tying stamp; stamp with lower corner replaced and design skillfully handpainted in, Very Fine appearance, still an attractive and a very rare usage of the elusive and so-called "Emerald Green" shade, unpriced as used and on cover in Scott; with 2006 C.S.A. certificate.
