Clear oval handstamp on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, black printed frank at top, light "Wells, Fargo & Co, Marysville, Apr 22" oval date stamp at center, docketed "H.H. Chittenden, April 1866" on reverse, Very Fine, a very scarce conjunctive usage from Howlands Flat connecting with Wells, Fargo & Co. at Marysville, ex Chaloner, Walske.

Merchant's Exchange, San Francisco. Full bold strike of red oval handstamp on 1850 folded letter sheet to New York City, endorsed "Law's Steamer Columbus, 19 Oct" at top with "40" in circle rate handstamp; minor cover wrinkling and sealed tears at lower right, Very Fine, a rare early letter bag operator usage, pictured in Letters of Gold.

Full bold fancy box handstamp in greenish blue on 1853, 6¢ Nesbitt entire to Long Island, N.Y., postmarked with "San Francisco, Cal., Nov 1" cds, faint "1854" pencil docketing on face; cover with sealed tear at left and reinforced edge wear, otherwise Very Fine, a wonderful and rare color strike of this letter bag operator handstamp, ex Vogel, Walske.
