Two folded covers, 1st is 1839 cover with manuscript "Alexa, Sep. 20" postmark & (Steam) "12½" rate to Natchitoches with manuscript "Houma" Name of Boat, 2nd is an 1847 cover to Alexandria from New Orleans with two line "Steam 10" handstamp applied on arrival with manuscript "Ellen" Name of Boat, Very Fine.

Manuscript Steamboat endorsement on 1818 folded cover from New Orleans to Natchez with manuscript "6" rate for collection of the 6¢ ship rate on steamboat covers authorized by Postmaster General Granger on April 30, 1813, cover with all over aging & internal edge splits, F.-V.F.

Very light strike of red cds on 1823 folded cover to Point Coupee with manuscript "SB 20½" rate, manuscript postmark of "Pte Coupee, La." at left with "10" rate added & totalled to "30½", which has been crossed out with a new manuscript "10" rate at right, interesting letter discussing the sale of slaves, some cover aging, sealed tear at top, F.-V.F.

Straight line handstamp on 1826 folded cover with manuscript "37½" rate, letter contents include I send this by a friend to B(ayou) Sara who will either mail it or have it to be sent down in the Packet, Very Fine, a rare early cover showing the first Steam handstamp used in New Orleans.
