Manuscript postmark (SIS-3110) on cover to Hiram, Brown in Astoria, Oregon (captain of a river steamboat operating between Portland and Astoria) with illustrated "Per Overland Mail Stage" Four Horse Stagecoach design with Hitchcock imprint (Via Los Angeles crossed out), docketed "Recd for Taxes 1861, Washington Territory" at left; upper right corner and stamp cut out and replaced, Fine appearance, still a very rare usage from Ottitiewa.
