New Orleans to France. 1854-79 an interesting lot of 14 covers with adhesives & one entire from New Orleans to France, numerous different frankings & marking, mixed condition, F.-V.F., a nice group worth inspection.

New Orleans to Italy. 1858 folded cover to Italy postmarked New Orleans cds with manuscript "38" (double rate) alongside, numerous markings including bold numeral "23" & red straight line "Via di Svizzera", at top left corner is remnants of wax sealed & part of rare Italian Due label, which has since been torn off, Very Fine.

Transatlantic Mail Covers. A nice group of 66 stampless covers from the 1840'-1860's, however a few earlier items are present, virtually all addressed to England, France, & Germany, all with a wide variety of Foreign & US markings, mixed condition, F.-V.F., please inspect.

Oelrichs & Co., New York, Forwarded By. Full oval handstamp in incoming 1861 folded letter to Richmond, Va., enclosure datelined "Bremen, 5th June, 1861" shortly after the Confederate P.O. Department took control and mail lines closed between the North & South on June 1st, likely privately carried (possibly by express) to Richmond; trivial erosion in address panel, Very Fine.

Folsom in San Francisco, Cal., franked with 1852, 3¢ "early claret", horiz pair tied by "New York, N.Y., Apr 22" cds with matching grids canceling, "per Georgia" endorsement; small tone spots around stamps, otherwise Very Fine; with 2004 A.P.S. certificate.

Full clear strike of oval forwarders handstamp on reverse of 1838 folded letter to London, England, enclosure datelined from Matanras (Cuba), cover front with manuscript "3/2" rate and reverse with additional red "Liverpool, Ship Letter" handstamp and receiving postmark, Very Fine and choice.
