Full clear strike of small cds on cover to Red Bluff, franked with 3¢ banknote tied by target cancel, with original 1877 enclosure; cover with slight rough opening at right (slightly under stamp), otherwise Very Fine, a scarce postmark, this smaller type circular date stamp is unlisted in Williams.

Red town postmark (LAS-1550) on cover to Pennsylvania, franked with manuscript canceled 1861, 3¢ rose, manuscript "Overland" routing and light 1868 pencil docketing; side and portion of top flap missing, otherwise Very Fine, the earliest recorded usage of this postmark.
