1861, 1¢ blue. Showing Plate Scratch in "S" of "US", tied by neat "West Troy, N.Y., Jul 21" cds on 1860, 1¢ blue on buff entire paying the 2¢ circular rate to Derry Township, Pa.; cover with light file and reduction at left, F.-V.F., an interesting and very scarce combination usage.

1861, 1¢ blue. Slight nibbed upper left corner, tied on fresh local cover by "U.S.P.O. Dispatch, Phila, Nov 7" octagon date stamp with second strike alongside; small cover reduction in upper right corner from opening, otherwise Very Fine, illustrated in Evans 1¢ Franklin book (pg. 179, fig 10-24).

Tied by "U.S. Penny Mail/Phila, Pa." octagon with second strike alongside on local cover, pencil notation "not there/JHK" (Carrier's initials), handstamped on reverse two line cursive "Not called for/no such person can be found" additionally struck by Dead Letter Office cds "Philadelphia, Pa./Dead", Very Fine.
