1870, 6¢ carmine, grilled, horizontal pair. Tied together by NYFM cancels and the left is tied by red New York transit marking on cover to Chesire, England, 'via Southampton', the cover has small faults, no backflap, Fine appearance; with 2007 P.F. certificate.

In combination with 1870, 3¢ green on registered cover to Spencer, Mass., tied by grid cancels with partial "Worchester, Mass., Aug 2" cds at left, manuscript registry number, with original 1871 enclosure; cover with tone spot and nick at top, Fine, a rare on cover usage of the 15¢ I grill, approximately 8 known usages, this being the only one with a split grill; with 2005 P.F. certificate.
