California Town Cover Balance. 20 franked covers or entire, mostly 1851-57 usages; 1851-57 usages including Nevada City, 5 integral rate cds & Dowieville both tying #11 pair, Saint Louis, Bencia, Visilia, Fosters Bar, Goodyear Bar, Todds Valley, 1861 Downieville with star canceling #26, 1861 usage with Lincoln, Watsonville, Red Dog, Santa Cruz, San Leandro, Callahan's Ranch, Moore's Flat, Los Angeles and Placerville usage to Germany; condition a little varied with clear readable town strikes thooughout, F.-V.F. overall.

Approximately 170 cover and cards in dealer sleeves; nice range postmarks from early 1850's to early 20th century with items generally retailing $10-$50; good showing better early including 1850's Forbestown manuscript, Weaverville, Don Pedros Bar manuscript, Greenwood rimless oval, Culloma, Bencia, Tablerock, etc., other better later with 1882 Tahoe, 1881 Biggs Station, 1881 Kibesillah oval, 1860's Silver Mountain, 1881 Hatden Hill, etc.; condition a little mixed as to be expected with many choice town strikes; worth careful evaluation (no photo).
