Hawaii, (Maui) Haiku, H.I., Post Office, Oct 23, 1879. Circular town postmark (MH 238.02, 1RRR) tying 1875, 2¢ brown, horiz. strip of three on cover to Vincennes, Ind., additionally canceled by light target handstamps, purple "Honolulu, H.I., Paid All, Oct 25, 1879" cds (MH 237.12) and red San Francisco transit postmark on reverse; right stamp missing lower right corner and cover with slightly rough opening, F.-V.F., a very rare usage of this Haiku Post Office postmark, with only seven strikes recorded on and off cover.

Davies & Co. corner card cover with preprinted address to Paia Store, "pr Claudine" ship endorsement at top and light purple Paia receiving backstamp; few sealed cover tears at top from opening, otherwise Very Fine.
