(Placer) Lincoln, Cal., May 17 1863. Nicely struck postmark (PLA-2180) with manuscript year date added, target cancel on 10¢ green alongside, fresh and clean cover, to Maine, interesting letter enclosed mentioning the "fall of Richmond", Very Fine, earliest known cover.
